I think, technically, that's more of a nerd thing. Geeks are more about gadgets & sci-fi.

In fairness, I think her comment was an observation based more on life in general than on any one specific thing I’d said in the immediate context.

But I do like gadgets too. I just can’t afford any cool ones.
